Ordinals - are they a good thing or not

Just wondering if there are any strong views on Ordinals here? I just watched Peter McCormack pin Rob Hamilton down on whether it helps BTC or hinders…

Ordinals and Taproot inscriptions, have highlighted the need for greater Bitcoin functionality. Ordinals are undeniable proof of massive demand for Bitcoin-native functionality. That is the good news.

However, they also highlight the danger of not having modular and layered scalability - a bloated Bitcoin chain and distorted fees.

For Sovryn they seem to highlight the importance of what we are doing. Providing the functionality people want, while reducing on-chain bloat and improving the Bitcoin security budget.
