I think that folks should vote thinking about what is best for Sovryn and not with their speculator hats on. I think that the project will do a lot of good for Sovryn, too much to turn it down just for not having an edge in the pre-sale.
Those are maximums. Not everyone will have the funds for maximum allocations. I believe it is fair in that even those with $100 worth of rBTC, for example, can still participate.
It is certainly fair that those with smaller amounts of funds can partecipate.
But let’s be real, if you can pay for a premium group (or if you participated in the earlier SOV sales) you can hit these limits fairly easily, so that’s not a good argument in my view.
I can’t believe the negative vibe for this SIP. When Pomp came in and cancelled our presale and bought all the remaining SOV coins, the SIP was passed with 97% approval. How come that seemed to be OK for the community? but BCW getting a very small start to this is an issue. For me I’m just happy to be part of this project and hope this is a massive success and good luck to the team in their first launch on Sovryn.
I am not speaking about staking rewards here - I am speaking about long term support. It seems that this is not what You aim for. Why are You interested in BabelFish?
Our goal should be making BabelFish big enough, to make sigificant impact on whole crypto industry. Making crypto experience simpler and better for everyone.
There are different people interested in participating in this project. Some here focused on themselves, some look further in the future. I strongly belive, that BabelFish needs people who share it’s values and point of view. People who are ready for long term hold, people, who want to be part of this journey, who are not affraid to invest in this dream.
There is no way to make everyone happy… But this proposal is very well ballanced in comparation to draft version.
Many new premiums did not participate in the earlier SOV sales and bought off the platform at a much higher price. I do agree that those that participated in Genesis have the funds, but only if they are willing to sell any of their SOV to do so. And to assume that just because some were able to afford a premium membership, they have funds for full allocation, are false as well. Many use the remaining “additional” funds they have to join, then we also have additional “GEMS” that we allocate funds to. So, definitely not everyone who is a premium member will do the full allocation.
Anyways, glad to see the new SIP draft and happy to support the project for as long as it takes. A win-win for Sovryn and BabelFish communities in the long run.

I think the team has calibrated accordingly to make it a happy outcome for all.

How is this a happy outcome for non premium BCWs ?
He may vote as He likes to. But I would expect, that those who vote “NO” should not be hypocrites and would not participate in this sale…
a very well balanced and written! It takes Reading to understand it. Team has clearly brainstormed it to create a well balanced community. There are always naysayers, until they are not!
If You read proposal again - You will find Your answer.
you get to release 50% of your vested amount at your own will!
You make good points, but you have to consider that the second sale is now open to everyone, even non SOV holders. That’s fine by me, but that means that the tokens will be snatched much faster than as intended in the previous SIP (especially considering that the sale is in a month’s time roughly, and word gets around!).
I mean it’s still a yes for me, BabelFish will be great for Sovryn, but I think it’s something to consider if possible.
Yes, I see your point on the 2nd sale being public and open to everyone. I get it
Do you see BCW community making a big fuss over the long locking period vs Public sale which gets 50% unlocked immediately?
NO is the answer because they form the pillar of support for this project and not some paper hands who will dump at the first sight of red… and therein lies the reply to why BCW gets first dibs
How can they complain about the rules that they made? Id take BCW conditions. They are insiders getting privileges.
When you dont back up your stand with a constructive debate… it speaks much of how little your words are worth
People like you are the reason we need people like BCW
I just don’t see what is fair in your worldview, this project is rewarding proven loyal communities it belongs to, so together they can keep adding value and building sustainable decentralised projects. If privilege means giving every other buyer 50% fully vested while they vest linearly over 10%, plus 2.5% to create an AMM and a 1% airdrop to SOV stakers, then we need more privileged people like that in the world.
I agree with you. We should all get the same conditions.
With all due respect, I don’t think you understand how communities nor incentives work.
