Exchequer now sits with a balance of about $200k, most of which is value from SOV tokens (~$125k).
Over 2 months almost $2mm worth of BTC @$85,000 BTC/USD has left Exchequer and into OKEx - a platform most widely known for futures trading. After Bitcoin fell in early February (hitting $60k on Feb 5), on Feb 17 @yago announced to the forum the need to take over the FeeSharingCollector contract: https://forum.sovryn.com/t/staking-update-temporary-adjustment-to-staking-rewards
The recent significant decline in BTC price has materially impacted our operational position and requires a prudent adjustment to ensure the project’s longevity.
I think the community would greatly appreciate an honest response from @Armando or @yago on the details of what happened. An honest response would help stop the speculation and assumptions of bad intentions. We can all understand feeling financially pressured, compounding mistakes, and holding a trade for far too long. Also a comment on how going forward sending the FeeSharingController protocol fees to GovernorVault (a contract controlled by bitocracy) could help mitigate the risks of even the best intentions. Please understand SIP-0088 is crafted specially to address this. The community is hoping we have your support in making more positive decisions going forward.
Thanks all for your support and help in building a stronger community!
