I think it is cowardly not taking accountability from your side. Pretending you’re not the Leader of that project makes me speechless. Very slippy this route.
It would be nice if Sovryn could provide basic infrastructure like simple dex with a way for people to make their own liquidity pools and simple lending to produce fee revenue to Stakers. Built with low maintenance in mind.
Sovryn does the dex thing well, and finally having a good place to call home “BOS” might finally give us the notoriety we deserve. Which at one point, was the narrative according to the black paper and many comments of team shitting all over RSK for our lack of success.
I realize we are probably trying to shy away from this because it looks like competition to other projects you are trying to onboard to BOS.
And on that topic: a deep sorrow all Sovryn’s must now share.
Sovryn could have been a huge thing with 10s of thousands, or even 100s of thousands of active users
with 100s of millions in daily trading volume
worth 100s of billions of dollars
With decentralized lending
A Bitcoin backed stable coin listed on all cex’s and dex’s
Hailed amongst Bitcoiners and shitcoiners alike…
but just like what rootstock has done to Sovryn, Sovryn stays handicapped due to what seems like bureaucracy.
So now, we become a “Freedom incubator”. Which we could have been either way (a very small part of the Sovryn mission… plus a behemoth ass dex with zero interest lending, and a perpetual swap system that would make Binance look like it was carved on a cave wall.
But I understand. Settling is less risky, and it’s easier to say “we can’t” then “we can”.
I hope everybody that has any interest in Sovryn takes a step back, and truly appreciates this moment: We may end up successful as a freedom incubator, but we will never be what we could have been.
And that’s ok. We can still be successful. Maybe it’s time we lower our expectations.
I made a post a while ago asking “Is staking a thing of the past?” And I think the recent community calls confirm this.
I share your sentiment … and I fully support your call for building out the basic infrastructure for a safe and reliable DEX on BOS, Rootstock and probably BOB now that we are there!
Boltz offers very attractive non-custodial bridging rates from and into Rootstock from Lightning and BTC mainchain. Rootstock may not be scalable to the global level, and the fees are higher than we want. But Sovryn on Rootstock works reliably if you are Bitcoin-focused. It would be necessary that spot and margin trading find their way away from alpha onto the new dapp! And that all efforts are made that Zero works the way it was planned to.
And while we are at it, can the project that calls itself “Sovryn” please engage in and support the Nostr network? I talked about that with the team on several occasions already, but nothing so far.
