Lost all my funds today - Liquality wallet

I only got one new address. Basically, the old address became Legacy Rootstock and the new address is just rootstock. My funds and contracts remained in legacy. The trick was to point sovryn to the Legacy address.

Did you save any of the new addresses that you got? I need to see what the derivation path is on those.
So if you saved one of the wrong addresses please paste them here.
Thanks Dru.

I spent a few minutes looking this up and now I know what to look for, but I have no clue how to find this information within Liquality wallet.

I mean during the progress of getting the wrong address did you by any chance copied and saved the wrong address.
If possible that you can send me one of the wrong address you got?

Here’s the new address that I was given with the update of LW.
0x39E8C60555AF0560aD73f47962808b256409eaE6

Feel free to send as much funds as you like to it…lol

When you look it up in RSK Explorer, it will not find it, maybe because there are no funds there, but this can be changed with any donations…

But wait, I just ran it in ETHERSCAN and it finds it there and shows a balance. So is the new address in Liquality wallet now linked to Ether?

Yeap, just noticed the new rootstock address after upgrading Liquality wallet is the same as my eth address within liquality wallet. SO, if let’s say someone sends me RBTC, the address is 0x39E8C60555AF0560aD73f47962808b256409eaE6. This address is the same as my eth address.
Where is the RBTC going to and how can rootstock, which is in RSK, share a ETH address? I’m gonna send a small amount of BTC to this RBTC address to see how it deposits Bitcoin into an Eth address. Very interesting.

There, I just tried to send BTC to this new RBTC address using Muun. It scanned it and rejected it since it is not a btc address and labels it as an ETH address.

Yes I had this same issue a few months ago. Be careful in the future.

I’m thinking of the addresses when your wallet wasn’t working if you by chance saved any of them?

No I did not as I went into panic mode and all I wanted to do was recover my funds. As you are right now.

The seeds did work for me after a few hours of recovering the wallet. What Luka stated here on this thread sealed the deal for me as that helped me point LW to the address where all the funds were.

I really hope you get everything back to normal on your end. I’ve had a few HShit moments in crypto in the past couple of years. The payoff is all worth it tho as I’m way ahead now.

Thank you for your support this my first mishap since 2017 always played this safe. I did this time to wrote it down so many times.

Don’t know I’m losing hope right now. My wallet shows 2 new addresses even if I do the steps that you did. I think I’m fucked. All of this because of an upgrade this crazy.
Wish I used another wallet.

Are you saying I should try with spaces ? What is language pack? I’m using my MacBook just manually pressing in the words.

Have you tried to put your seeds into nifty?
That wallet will have your funds. Just add the tokens you had and all should be there. Once you have your funds, setup a cold wallet like Trezor and add your funds into that wallet.
If you are still using sovryn, it now works great with cold wallets. This is a major advantage of sovryn now that you can use cold wallets to do defi. Everyone else is using hot wallets, which leaves us vulnerable to these types of mishaps.

Tried nifty a few days ago maybe I will try it again.
Gonna try until I give up nothing to do more still waiting on liquality support. They are looking into but haven’t heard anything from them for a while.
The thing that pains me the most is that I took the seed phrase out the same day from the wallet and matches all other papers I had at home I can’t understand how this is possible.

Hey, this happened to me as well. I logged in for the first time in a couple of months and I can no longer see my funds in. It’s showing 0 in liquality. Followed directions above (cleared cache, forget all connections, etc. and made sure to select Legacy Rootstocks). @Simsimselomii did you figure it out?

Hey no I haven’t still talking to there support and they are still insisting that I’m the only user with this problem. I even have a discord chat with liquality support when I still have access to the wallet and trying to restore it in another browser and can’t restore it. Total bs of a wallet.
Told them I will voice my opinion on public channels soon, would be good if you do this too.

Hi Simsimselomii,

No solution? I have today the very same problem as you had. Am sure about the seed. Support could not help much and steps above did not help. I am using Brave on Windows. And in the future wanted to migrate to Linux as well. But even on Windows I am not able to see any funds. I get addresses with zero everywhere, both RSK and legacy RSK. I am using Windows to simulate the same conditions as before.

Deleted all Brave history and cache as suggested, tried Nifty, Defiant, Metamask…so far nothing.

Did anyone tried to solve it with this official article?

There’s also more info here:

Sadly, most of the wallets took a road where the seed phrase is not enough to recover the private keys and manage your funds, but you also need to use the same derivation path the wallet used to generate the addresses.

Thanks for the reply.

Yes, I tried the official way. No success. The addresses still have zero balance.

Not sure what you mean by this passage here:

ā€œSadly, most of the wallets took a road where the seed phrase is not enough to recover the private keys and manage your fundsā€

What exactly do you mean by that?

That you need to also know the derivation path, not just the seed phrase.
